Armillary Sphere Sundial Floral Dish 38cm Bronze Garden Art Sculpture – AR2

An Exquisite Floral Bronze Armillary Sphere with Extraordinary Detail

This beautiful Floral Dish Bronze Armillary Sphere Sundial is one of the most distinctive and intricately decorated designs in the Avant Garden Bronzes collection.

Crafted from solid bronze, it combines a remarkably substantial frame with an exquisite arrangement of floral detailing, traditional Roman numerals and a beautifully modelled central sunface.

Unlike more conventional armillary spheres, its ornate dish-style construction creates a rich decorative appearance with wonderful depth and character.

Polished bronze highlights contrast beautifully with softer verdigris tones, drawing attention to the exceptional craftsmanship.

Although measuring just 38 cm across its largest dimension, this remarkable sculpture has a reassuringly solid presence.

For customers who appreciate traditional garden art with unusual decorative detail, it offers something genuinely special.

Beautiful Floral Decoration Surrounding a Traditional Sunface

The intricate floral dish is undoubtedly one of the most appealing features of this bronze armillary sphere.

Its carefully modelled decoration creates a wonderfully ornate setting for the central sunface.

Traditional Roman numerals surround the design, reinforcing the sculpture’s connection with historic sundials and the passage of time.

Meanwhile, polished bronze highlights bring warmth and definition to the individual decorative elements.

The combination creates a sculpture that rewards closer inspection.

For anyone who enjoys fine craftsmanship, classical ornamentation and unusual bronze artwork, this is a particularly attractive choice.

An Exceptionally Solid Frame with Lasting Character

Despite its compact proportions, this armillary sphere has an unusually substantial construction.

The strong bronze framework gives the sculpture a reassuring sense of weight and permanence.

Its distinctive dish-style arrangement also creates a more enclosed, sculptural appearance than conventional open-ring armillaries.

Furthermore, the adjustable frame allows the decorative structure to be positioned for the intended display.

For customers seeking a smaller garden feature that still feels substantial and beautifully made, this design offers an excellent combination.

Beautifully Photographed on the Cliffs of Guernsey

Our photographs of this extraordinary bronze armillary sphere were taken against the dramatic coastal scenery of Guernsey.

The rugged cliffs and open landscape provide a wonderful contrast to the sculpture’s intricate floral decoration.

Natural light also helps reveal the polished bronze highlights and softer verdigris tones.

These photographs offer an opportunity to appreciate the armillary in a setting far removed from a conventional studio display.

They also provide inspiration for customers with coastal homes, seaside terraces and gardens overlooking open countryside.

Watch Our Video and Discover the Exceptional Craftsmanship

Our accompanying video provides an excellent opportunity to explore the intricate design of this beautiful bronze armillary sphere.

The footage allows customers to appreciate its substantial framework, ornate floral dish and detailed central sunface.

It also helps reveal the contrasting bronze finishes and traditional Roman numeral decoration.

For a sculpture with so much intricate modelling, video offers a particularly useful way to appreciate the craftsmanship.

Together with the Guernsey coastal photographs, it provides a much clearer impression of this unusual design before purchasing.

A Beautiful Centrepiece for Traditional Gardens and Courtyards

This ornate bronze armillary sphere makes a particularly attractive feature within established gardens.

Its rich decorative character complements natural stone, traditional brickwork, climbing roses and classical planting schemes.

Position it within a sheltered courtyard, on a garden terrace or among carefully arranged borders.

Alternatively, display it on a suitable pedestal where the detailed floral decoration can be appreciated at a comfortable viewing height.

Its compact proportions also make it suitable for smaller gardens where a substantial freestanding armillary might be impractical.

For customers creating an elegant outdoor setting, this sculpture offers a lovely combination of character and craftsmanship.

Create an Elegant Display with a Chinese Limestone Pedestal

A suitable stone pedestal can make this beautifully detailed armillary sphere even more impressive.

Our Chinese Limestone Pedestals provide an attractive traditional base that complements the polished bronze and verdigris finish.

Elevating the sculpture brings its decorative sunface and floral dish closer to eye level.

This is particularly effective within formal courtyards, traditional gardens and landscaped terraces.

For customers considering a coordinated display, we are happy to advise on suitable pedestal options.

A Meaningful Gift for Anniversaries and Special Occasions

The traditional symbolism of an armillary sphere makes it a thoughtful choice for important life celebrations.

Its association with time and continuity is especially appropriate for wedding anniversaries, milestone birthdays and retirement occasions.

The beautiful floral decoration also gives this particular design a softer, more romantic character.

For someone who appreciates gardening, traditional craftsmanship or unusual decorative art, it offers a memorable alternative to conventional presents.

Unlike temporary gifts, a genuine bronze sculpture can become a lasting reminder of a special occasion.

A Distinctive Design with a Story of Its Own

This beautiful floral armillary sphere has long been a personal favourite within our collection.

Its unusual construction and exceptional detailing make it particularly memorable when viewed in person.

After introducing the sculpture into our Guernsey shop, we created new video footage and photographed it against the island’s dramatic coastal scenery.

Soon afterwards, the design achieved an online sale.

For us, this was an encouraging reminder of how important it is to show unusual bronze sculptures in settings that reveal their true character.

Genuine Solid Bronze for Permanent Outdoor Display

This ornate armillary sphere is crafted from solid bronze rather than lightweight imitation materials.

Bronze does not rust like iron or steel. Therefore, it is particularly well suited to permanent outdoor garden display.

The polished bronze highlights and verdigris detailing create a beautifully contrasting finish.

Over time, natural weathering can add further character to the surface.

For customers seeking lasting quality and traditional craftsmanship, this sculpture offers considerably more than an ordinary garden ornament.
