So long as the base fits even diagonally on to the base it is fine if the arms, legs might be outstretched or pointing or overhanging. For Example all of these Plinths are extremely durable. Chinese Limestone is noted for this. And can endure the most severe weather elements. In addition all of these Pedestals are hollow. So it is possible to drill a hole, then bolt down the sculpture for security.
